Extra-Curricular

At the Patrician Primary School, we believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom. We are proud to offer a broad and exciting range of extra-curricular activities that cater to the diverse interests and talents of our students.

Whether developing teamwork and sporting skills through hurling, football, camogie, soccer, basketball or athletics, or exploring creativity and culture through our school choir, Club Gaeilge and Sewing Club, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

These activities help our students to grow in confidence, build friendships, and discover new passions in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Basketball

Another extremely popular sport in the school for both boys and girls.

Both senior teams play in the Cumann na mBunscol tournaments, while there is also skills training at different times in the year for younger students.

Choir

Music has always been an important part of the Patrician Primary School and the choir has played a central role in this.

Performing at school masses, the Christmas Carol Service and the Annual Peace Proms, the school choir practices every Monday with Ms. Callaghan, Ms. Leslie and Ms. Kelly.

Sewing Club

One of our newest and most exciting after school activities was the school's Sewing Club with Ms. O'Sullivan.

A fantastic opportunity for creative and artistic students who want to learn an invaluable skill in a fun and social environment.

Chess Club

Chess club is available for pupils in senior classes who would like to practice their chess skills against friends during lunch time.

Chess club runs at different times throughout the year and the school also competes in the chess tournament organised by Ficheall.

Student Council

Our PPS Student Council is a fantastic opportunity for students to have their voices and ideas heard.

With yearly elections, two students from each class have the chance to represent their class for the year.

Tasked with coming up with ideas for school events and activities, the Student Council also represents the school at events outside the school.
